Competition in Australia: a new era for eyelash lamination by InLei®

What 's the time where you are?
I don't know, and I've completely lost perception of time, because as I write this article I am literally on the other side of the world: in Australia. With a 10-hour time difference, so today I'll just say: Good time, wherever you are.
We are in Australia, and we are here for something epic: the first conference and the first live competition entirely dedicated to eyelash lamination on Australian soil. And yes, of course: brought to you by InLei®.
In a moment, I will show you the works that impressed me the most, but first I want to make it clear how important this moment is for our industry.
InLei® and its winning model worldwide
The InLei® brand works in a very precise way: it collaborates with a single reference person for each country, a single figure who manages every aspect of the brand at a national level.
This allows for consistent management that is tailored to the specific needs of each country:
- sales (online and offline)
- unified professional training
- relations with distributors and partners
Each market is different, and InLei® has learned to understand this thanks to many years of experience.
A huge thank you goes to our official representative in Australia who has managed to achieve extraordinary results in record time with pride, determination and professionalism, combining the local model with Made in Italy quality.
Let's talk about the competition: a reflection of the industry
Let's talk about the competition. An Australian national competition dedicated exclusively to eyelash lamination, which saw 20 participants in its first edition. And do you know why it's so important? Because competitions help the industry grow. Not only for those who participate, but also for those who watch from home. Seeing high standards publicly sets new expectations and new goals to strive for. And this raises the entire professional level of the country.
The case of the difficult model: a lesson not to be forgotten
Today I want to focus on one specific photo: the one of a model in the pre-treatment stage. A technically challenging situation, with natural lashes that would have required serious structural correction, not just a simple treatment.
I admit that I admire the master who accepted this challenge. Competing is already difficult with a “normal” model. But starting from a base like this, in a new environment, with tight deadlines and pressure on... that's real courage.
The work afterwards? I won't show you, it wasn't championship standard — and we're not here to judge anyone. Also with years of experience, I can do a job that turns out badly. The important thing is to know how to interpret it, understand why, and grow. The treatment was performed correctly, but it wasn't sufficient for a high-level competition.
And this leads to an important consideration: The model is worth 90% of your success in the competition.

Yes, you read that correctly:
If you want to aim for victory, choosing the right model accounts for 90% of the result.
The other 10%? That's everything that depends on you:
- Your technical expertise
- The quality of the training courses you have attended
- Your ability to react quickly to unexpected events
- Your critical and analytical eye
- Your readiness to take responsibility in the moment
This is exactly what happened to the girl who won first place: during the competition, she noticed that some tips had twisted and was able to correct them immediately, with clarity and professionalism. Now imagine: if you invested little in that 10%, perhaps you took a course that left you with more questions than answers... If your model is not a 90 but a 10... What are your chances of winning?
The works that impressed the judges
These are the works that stood out for their excellent technical execution, impressing the judges with their precision, cleanliness and consistency of results. Some of them won first place, while others earned excellent scores and the full jury appreciation.

What does jury appreciation mean?
In the context of eyelash lamination/Lash Filler, it is a special award given when a piece of work particularly impresses a judge, regardless of the final score.
Basically, the judge chooses to highlight something that won them over:
- the best wave of the curl
- the most meticulous result
- the fluffiest effect
- the tidiest work
- etc...
In such cases, the judge prepares special cups designed specifically to reward that distinctive feature.
As a company, this time we prepared some very unusual awards: jars full of surprises — small objects, messages of encouragement, new InLei® products not yet on the market, etc.
The top of the jar is a cup: once emptied, you can decide to keep only the precious plexiglass award.
They were greatly appreciated by the participants!

This competition was not just a contest: it was a powerful signal.
It showed us, once again, that eyelash lamination is a vibrant, evolving sector that craves higher standards, better training and real comparison. Furthermore, for the first time, we saw Korean lamination live, which is still so unusual for our European eyes to understand, but will soon ride the wave of success and discussion throughout Europe.
When professionals from all over the world (and I can say this with certainty because there were even participants from South Africa) put themselves out there, the whole sector moves forward. It's not just those who climb onto the podium who win: those who observe, those who learn, those who go home and want to do better also win.
And if today Australia has opened its doors to the first competition dedicated to InLei® eyelash lamination, it can only mean one thing: we are increasingly aware, more prepared and more courageous.
And we will be there. To support those who try, those who dare and those who believe that the lashes deserve excellence.
